Storm Goretti

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community and team during the recent storm.

We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who stepped in to help following the storm and power cuts, the farmers, local trades, and members of our local community who worked tirelessly to clear the roads, and to those who offered hot water and support to neighbours in need.

We also want to give a very special thank you to our amazing staff who went above and beyond to ensure clients were still cared for. From climbing through fallen trees to reach people, to bringing their own flasks of hot water and food so clients could have something warm, your kindness and dedication have been truly humbling.

For many people living alone in our village, these acts of care have been a real lifeline.

We know other healthcare professionals and local care agencies have done the same, a massive well done to all.

The photo shared is of Helen heating up a crumpet for a client so he could have something hot to eat.

Helen simply said, “It’s just like I used to do with my granny,” and that really says it all. This is what care looks like.

This is community spirit, people looking out for one another, offering help, and coming together when it matters most.
