Past experiences of discrimination, misunderstanding, or lack of awareness within services can make people hesitant to seek the support they need. At Riverside, we recognise this and are committed to creating a service where people feel safe to be themselves - without fear of judgement.
Every individual we support is treated with dignity, respect, and understanding. We believe that care should always be person-centred. This means recognising and respecting a person’s identity, relationships, experiences, and the life they have built for themselves.
Our goal is simple: everyone should feel comfortable being themselves. We encourage open communication and create spaces where people feel confident sharing their identities, preferences, and experiences. Respecting chosen names, pronouns, relationships, and personal boundaries is a fundamental part of the support we provide.
